Frequently Asked Questions about WordPress Websites
Why do you recommend WordPress Websites?
There are so many reasons! WordPress powers more than a quarter of the websites today. It is updated and improved regularly to ensure its security. All changes and improvements are driven by the needs of users. It is responsive, simple to use and can integrate with your digital marketing tools.
How much does a WordPress website cost?
This is the big one! Every website we build is unique to the clients needs and business. For example we have built sites with 25+ pages that include a shopping cart, members area and event booking functionality. In contrast we have built sites that are just four pages (Home, About, Services and Contact). For this reason we don’t provide standard pricing packages and prefer to quote each client individually.
Do you offer a web hosting service?
We don’t offer web hosting, but we can recommend a web hosting company and organise the hosting service for you. The Australian company we use and recommend is Digital Pacific, they are competitively priced and their support is simply awesome! If you need help choosing the right hosting just give us a call.
What if I don’t have time to maintain my website?
That is completely understandable and we have clients who are in the same position! We have a range of website maintenance plans that are built to suit your needs. You might just want your website checked once a month for updates, or you might want new images and content uploaded every quarter. Send us a message and we will work out a plan to suit your needs and your budget.
What kind of support do you offer?
We pride ourselves on our customer support. Once your website is live we will go through the website with you, in person or via zoom. You will be walked through how to create a post, make changes to your pages, add new imagery and more. It can be a lot of information to take on in one hit, so if you have any follow up questions we are more than happy to help.
What do I need to provide to get started?
To get things under way we will need copy for your website, imagery and branding files. If you need help with these please let us know. We also provide graphic design services and can help with your branding and visual identity if you are just starting out. We can also recommend some great local copywriters.
Frequently Asked Questions about Design Services
What is involved in self-publishing my book?
The majority of authors we work with self publish, the process is so much simpler than it used to be. To self publish you will need an ISBN and barcode from Thorpe-Bowker. Once this step is complete you can register your book with the National Library of Australia (NLA) and complete the prepublication data form. The form can be found here. When your book is printed send a copy to the NLA and local libraries in your area. If you need help arranging your ISBN, etc please give us call. We can also help with marketing your book once it is printed.
Can you offer printing services?
We definitely can! We use a reputable printer in the local area and can arrange printing of your marketing material, books, posters, banners and promotional material. Simply send us a message with the details of your print needs.
How much do you charge for a logo design?
Some design companies have a standard price structure for logo design. We prefer to provide an accurate quote prior to commencement based on initial discussions. Each logo design is different and can range from a simple font to a unique icon and style guide. We are happy to discuss your needs and provide a quote.
What happens if I don’t like the designs?
Every design job starts with a design brief to avoid this happening. We pride ourselves on our ability to listen and provide a design that is representative of you, your business and the brief. But if this did happen then we discuss it … what you don’t like about the design? what you do like about the design? … and go from there. If we were completely off the mark and misunderstood the brief then we re-design. We will be completely transparent at every stage of the design process.
