Blue Fin Fishing Club Book Design

Blue Fin Fishing club was started by a couple of local Inala fishermen in 1955.  In the 1970’s the members built their first clubhouse on the same grounds in location where the club still stands today. Today it is a nationally recognised venue with a bistro, coffee shop, function rooms and entertainment.

As you can imagine there are many fishing stories that have been collected by members since 1955, and for their 60th birthday in 2016 they commissioned the Richlands, Inala and Suburbs History Group to collate these memories into a commemorative book.

Project description

From the outset the authors knew what image they would like to display on the front cover, so we put the challenge to the Club President to stage the photo on one of their fishing trips.  The result was perfect and was the basis for the front cover design. When laying out the book we needed to keep in mind the audience, ranging from the original members through to the younger new members of today.  The book is a collection with hundreds of stories, photos and records filling over 300 pages.

The book was printed by CS Digital Print.
